Why I Founded Formynder Wealth Management
Formynder Wealth Management was founded with a simple but intentional vision: to create meaningful, long-term relationships and provide a client experience rooted in care, clarity, and trust.
I built this firm so I could truly get to know the people I serve. That means listening deeply, understanding what matters most, and helping clients anticipate and navigate financial transitions as life unfolds. To support that level of attention and stewardship, the firm is intentionally kept small, allowing me to serve a limited number of clients with focus and purpose.
As a faith-based firm, every client relationship is approached with empathy, compassion, and respect. My role is to walk alongside clients, offering clear, manageable guidance and ongoing support as they face financial decisions across different stages of life. For a deeper look at how military retirement planning works, this overview walks through the key considerations military families often face during the transition to retirement.
I am a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional and a Military Qualified Financial Planner®. These designations reflect both my professional training and my military experience, and they reinforce my commitment to providing military families, veterans, and retirees with fee-only, fiduciary advice at all times.

A Life Shaped by Service and Family
I began my military career by enlisting in the United States Marine Corps immediately after high school in 1998. Over more than two decades of service, including multiple deployments, I experienced firsthand the demands, uncertainty, and sacrifice that military life often requires.
During my enlisted service, I earned my bachelor’s degree and commission through Auburn University, eventually retiring from the Marine Corps in February 2024. That transition reinforced my commitment to serving others in a new way, helping military families navigate the financial decisions that accompany change, transition, and long-term planning.
My wife and I have been married since 1999, and together we have raised two sons, one of whom now serves in the United States Air Force. Like many military families, we spent years balancing duty, deployments, and family life. While we are grateful for our military experience, the shift toward placing family first has been a meaningful and welcome change.
Outside of work, I value staying active and engaged in my community. I am a long-distance runner, cyclist, and musician, and I remain involved in my church and local service efforts. I believe true wealth is not defined solely by what we accumulate, but by how we grow, give, and serve others.
